Every weapon in Destroy Any Website
Seven weapons, one grenade slot and a jetpack. Here is what each one does and the situation it is built for.
The official feature list says "7 weapons, grenades and a jetpack". The seven are the pistol, SMG, shotgun, rocket launcher, railgun, flamethrower and one named Too Much, which fires a projectile that drops to a parachute and releases several smaller bomblets on impact.
The loadout is less about damage numbers than about the shape of the target. A page is mostly small, regular objects — letters, words, buttons — arranged on wide, flat surfaces, and different weapons are better at different arrangements.
The arsenal at a glance
| Weapon | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Pistol | Single small targets: one letter, one icon, one button | Patience. Clearing a whole page with it is slow. |
| SMG | Continuous fire while you move, thinning out dense text | Low impact per shot — it chips rather than breaks. |
| Shotgun | Clusters of elements sitting close together | You have to close the distance to get value. |
| Rocket launcher | Big single targets and anything you want gone in one shot | It removes structure you may still need to stand on. |
| Railgun | Reaching across the width of a wide page | Precision made for flat, layered layouts. |
| Flamethrower | Close-range, messy, ongoing damage to a whole area | You have to be standing in the mess you are making. |
| Too Much | Large areas — the projectile bursts into multiple smaller bomblets | Its chaos is not selective. Goodbye, floor. |
Grenades and the jetpack
Grenades sit outside the seven-weapon rotation and are thrown with the right mouse button, so you never have to give up your current gun to use one. The jetpack matters just as much as any gun: on tall pages it is the difference between shooting the top half of the layout and staring at it.
How to actually pick one
- Look at the page before you shoot it. If it is mostly text, start with the SMG or shotgun. If it is mostly large images and blocks, start heavy.
- Keep one weapon for standing on. Explosives delete platforms. A page you have blown out from under yourself is a page you have to restart.
- Swap, do not commit. Weapon switching is a number key or one scroll notch. There is no reload and no penalty for changing your mind mid-level.
One caveat on the list above: the names and behaviour of all seven weapons are consistently reported across launch-week coverage, but the official page only names the first four in its own copy. Treat the payload details as reported rather than developer-confirmed, and expect small balance changes over time.

Frequently asked questions
- How many weapons does Destroy Any Website have?
- Seven, plus grenades and a jetpack. The official feature list states it as "7 weapons, grenades and a jetpack".
- What does the Too Much weapon do?
- It fires a projectile attached to a parachute that releases several smaller bomblets when it lands, spreading damage across a wide area rather than one point.
- Which weapon is best in Destroy Any Website?
- There is no single best pick. Flat, text-heavy pages reward the SMG or shotgun, while pages built from large blocks suit the rocket launcher. Keeping one weapon that preserves the floor is usually the smarter habit.
- Are grenades one of the seven weapons?
- No. Grenades are a separate slot thrown with the right mouse button, so you can use them without switching away from your current weapon.
